Well I got the new fuel pump in(2000 chev. metro) with no problems. I went to start it up , turned key forward & heard the pump hum(that wasn't humming before), and it started right up. I thought it was fixed. I then went to rev engine and it just completly boggs down. I let up on pedal and it returns to idle...just fine. I have to SLOWLY depress gas pedal to increase rpm's. If I punch it from idle, it practicly dies. I have read alot of threads here for similar problems, does this sound like tps ? Oh yea, also the service engine light is on. Please give me a few things to check. Thanks ....

Re: fuel pump install success..
I would check the adjustment on the TPS and see what that gets you.

Re: fuel pump install success..
How did the fuel filter look? Sometimes a bad fuel filter will cause that too.
