93 Taurus tranny problem

I have a 93 Taurus that won't go in reverse and it smokes,smells like tranny fluid,any ideas?

Check engine light on???? Probably best bet is take it to a quality trans repair shop. any previous shifting issues or just out of the blue???

No check engine light,no previous shifting problems,first no reverse and then after awhile it started to smoke and it smelled like tranny fluid.

Did you scan for codes??? Some of the trans codes will not set the light. It could be electrical or hydraulic\mechanical,, probably best bet is get it to a trans shop, ask around for a good one in your area
