Smile Plymouth Voyager..89, being rebuilt..

My father is giving me a 89 Plymouth Voyager to get me to Texas (i'm moving from California to there in a month)

It has a few leaks...it either has a cracked block or a blown head gasket. i've gotten most of it taken apart, but still a little more work before I can identify everything...

I'm just looking for some tips or experience people have with this..

I put a pressure gauge on the spark plugs and they are reading 60-75% leaking on each one at start up. my dad tells me that once it runs for a few minutes though, it seals itself up. Aluminum block might swell to fix the leak somewhat, or the gasket seals itself back up but its obviously no permanent or even temporary fix..

Other things: Oil in the air filter/intake...the plugs and cylinders are clean? Meaning water was in there too.. any ideas?
My dad is good with cars but isn't really helping my hands on with this stuff.

I'm in San Frnacisco and Santa Rosa, so if anyone haws spare parts around here too, I might be interested in them.

Thanks!
Kyle
