coil problem?

My 94 with 3.1 V6 has had a dead miss for some time, It has new plugs and wires, fuel pump, fuel filter. I pulled the wire off the coil pack while it was running and it did not change. Numbers 2 and 5 are on the same coil. the #5 post produced a small orange arc. the #2 produced a large, painful blue spark. Is this normal or a bad coil?

Re: coil problem?

If individual coils, switch them and see if the miss moves with the coil.
