freeze plug removal & installation on a 4.3 chevy
How do you remove and install a freeze plug? Is there some type of sealant used with the install? Thanks

There is a tool to do it but you can do just as well with a punch and a hammer. Hit the bottom in but becareful not to score the block. When the plug is sideways pull out with a pair of pliers. To install use a big deep socket and hit in the center untill the plug is flush with the block. Good Luck

I would also run a bead of permatex gasket sealer around the edge of the freeze plug before you install it. This will make it slide in eazier and seal it better.
