Re: trouble code P1810

What do you mean by no gears...Does the gear selector seem to be operating properly, can you feel resistance as you move it between the gears? Have you checked the Transmission fluid, could the fluid have leaked out somehow?

Unfortunatly, the codes I have in my Haynes manual do not list your code, we are trying to get the codes listed on a read only thread.

Re: trouble code P1810

Try this: http://autorepair.about.com/cs/troub.../bl_obd_18.htm

This code has to do with the transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor circuit.
Could be caused by a bad sensor or may be due to a lack of fluid.

Re: trouble code P1810

A GM TSB has been out on that problem on GM "N" body cars for a few years now. See link below:

Not a problem Lynn and you are welcome. I keep track of these items owning an Alero. Funny how Grand Am and Alero problems are similar....lol.

On the part if it is anything like our 4T65E transmission it is located under the tranny side cover assembly next to the valve body which is major work. The 4T45E trannies are similar just smaller and weaker.
