95 Ford Taurus Won't Shut Off..
My 95 Taurus won't shut off. My ignition lock feels stripped. I bought a new one, but i can't get my car to shut off and I have 3/4 of a tank left. I've heard you don't want to disconnect the battery while running...so what can I do? Is there a switch or a fuse I don't know about.
Please help. |

Re: 95 Ford Taurus Won't Shut Off..
Well, if your Taurus hasn't stopped on its own or with your help yet, you can pull the fuse for the fuel pump or remove the connector at the fuel pump shutoff switch/inertia switch in the trunk. Once the engine burns up the remaining fuel in the lines, it will stop running.
There have been others with similar problems on this forum before. Do a search on this forum. I've also read of a lot of Contour owners having this problem. Search the Contour/Mystique forum as well as on Contour.org. You may come up with some ideas there. -Rod |
