2006 Silverado Driver Seat

The drivers seat in my brand new truck that I purchased 2 months ago has a poping sound and vibration in the seat back from time to time is this a common problem.

Also just after i bought the truck i noticed that the drivers seat back was loose and making a poping sound coming from the bottom the dealer did something to tighten is up, but now it is loosening again and the seat fills like it is slightly leaning to the left, a friend of mine drove it and did not detect the lean to the left, but it is bothering me, is there a way to fix this?

rcm01,
Nothing personal, but are you a "big" guy? I'm 6'5" & 300lbs, My drivers seat creaks somewhat when stopping & going. I guess its my weight shifting. Okay people, no wise cracks!

Re: 2006 Silverado Driver Seat

I am 6-2, 215. Seems like the seat should be tough engough to handle a guy my size. I really think it is in the seat back that is not installed correctly.

When I extend both of my arms to the steering wheel, there is a slight amount of more tension in my left arm,I thought maybe my right arm is longer than my left (slightly) but my friend that i said drove the truck, noticed it too.

please let me know if you notice the same in your truck.

How about a popping sound in the coils in the seat back?

Re: 2006 Silverado Driver Seat

transmission problem? My truck is shifting hard from 1st to 2nd but it is not all the time, at slow speeds and on an incline is when i am noticing it mostly.

Is the popping you have in the seat upholstery sort of in the lumbar area? that is where mine is coming from and the seat is just not real comfortable.

Re: 2006 Silverado Driver Seat

Mine popped like crazy, back when I bought the truck.....the stealership just tightened it down, and so far for the past 2 years no problems.....go back to the stealership.....and make sure they write the problem down.......and give you a copy.....

Re: 2006 Silverado Driver Seat

I just got mine mine back from the dealership on monday. The transmission is fine now but, the seat pops worse than ever. Mine is popping in the lower lumbar region and somewhere on the left lower corner of the seat back. Has anyone here had any luck fixing this yourselves? Cliff
