Gasoline Fumes, What kind of Fuel milage did you get with your 84 Civic? My Car is a Wagon, 1500CC, Automatic transmission, and I'm wondering what kind of Fuel milage to expect? That's if I ever get this little Puzzle on the Road. What kind of Cruise Control can I get? Is there a Honda CC that will adapt for that year (1986)? Will it hold 75Mph on the Freeway? Sometimes those Freeways out west have a Wind in your face of 20mph which really affects my Diesel Pickup. I wondered if it's gonna slow the Little Honda down? Looking forward to your answer. :sun: |

I was getting between 32 and 50 mpg, depending on how I drove and how well the car was running. The estimated highway mileage for the '84 auto Wagon was 37 mpg (45 mpg for the 5-speed).
The only really hard part of adding cruise control would be the lack of a pulse from a speed sensor. Using the tach signal from the coil might work. I never had any problems maintaining speed. I had my poor Wagon up to an indicated 104 mph on a flat road once.

How I used to love that Speed.Riding in a little English Sports car, so close to the Pavment was a real kick. I could have reached the Ground easily. Racing a Bike on the Pavment was even Funner! Now I just want to get where I'm going. The Road is just in the way! I got the engine in and bolted up today. The AC Pump is a real pain. I finally had to take the Front left motor mount back off, to get enough Access to the Pump Bolts. I have three Mystery Vacuam tubes to decipher, and two Hoses coming out of the Firewall that have been Cut???? Also he used an extension cord and shunted around the Thermosensor to run the Electric Fan. I'll have to figure out where the original connectors are, and splice some good wire in. Other than that...... Thank's for the Report. |

Yes my Friend, I have that one!
Thank's a bunch.
Reading the Diagram is one thing! Finding all the mentioned parts is something else again. I went to your website. Boy oh Boy does your Wagon have an acute case of Cancer. In my Wagon I've discovered the Previous owners had cut some hoses and removed some things. later, Thudpucker |
