p0740 torque converter clutch. its actually a transmission code but will set in the engine ecm. what year, body and engine do you have? most of the time your gonna have to replace the solenoid pack on the valve body inside the tranny.

TCC Transmission Control Circuit(or code). [Hell is smtg horrible, steer clear.]

If problem is constant, you may measure &verify each solenoid resistance with a multimeter. The solenoid resistance values you find in FSM. Look below, zoom into 'Favorite Links'

Most probably its bad oxidized contact(s) meaning low voltage at TCU Transmission Control Unit, and/or low voltage =starved solenoids.. Check p.14 & 10.

Verify also if bad TPS signal; measure all ctrl voltage levels at TCU pins, also found in FSM (and p.15 TCU pin list.)

As always, start from checking charge voltage.

Re: Got Codes for repair..know what??????

there is a recall on the solenoid's for certain vin#'s. need to call nissan at 1-800-nissan1 and give them your vin# (tell them you want to check for outstanding campaigns on your car)and hopefully your car is within the vin range. if so, it wont cost you a dime.
