distributor or distributorless

I have a 1998 Camry with the 2.2 4cyl. I want to know if it has an coil pack or a distributor. If either one, how would I know the difference?

If you had a distributor, there would be a round thing with wires leading to the sparkplugs on the top side of the engine near the driver.

Now I'm confused because if it is distributorless, what the heck is the black thing with the wires coming out of it? It's not mounted on the side of the engine, it stands alone. Also, when I put new plugs in, what are the best kind for a Camry? I want ones that have the most power, reliability, longevity, and gas mileage.

I would recommend: NGK IX iridium 3764 BKR6EIX-11
Also, see the label under your hood
Denso and NGK are the best.
Make sure you put antiseize compound on the sparkplug threads and torque them.

The rule of thumb is that the more you pay for your plugs, the longer they last (not the better they run).
