mystique 2000

In the morning, especially when it's cold, after the engine starts, theres a howl from the engine compartment. The noise comes from around the air intake, some where near the MAF sensor. Does anybody have any idea what the problem might be? Going to the dealer doesn't work because the howling stops.

Re: mystique 2000

yup, its a common thing with the 2.5L duratec. Btw, nothing bad is happening when it happens. Its just turbulent air inside the intake. Heres the how-to on www.contour.org.

Question Re: mystique 2000 battery going down

Thanks for the reply. Now, here's another problem: if this same car sets during the whole day, without starting, the battery goes down. At first we thought it was the battery, but that wasn't the case. Now, some say it's the alarm system and others say it's the alarm system. What is the problem? If I can get at least an inkling of what's going on I would appreciate it.
