oxygen sensor mod

i have a d-series airmass header from a different motor than mine becaue the o2 sensor bung is on the bottom, and my stock one is on the top. if i took a piece of automotive wire and cut the o2 sensor wire and re crimped it to make it longer would it still work?

Re: oxygen sensor mod

yes, but you should solder it and then use heat shrink on the connection to prevent corrosion.

Re: oxygen sensor mod

Unless of course not done right!!. Solder and heat shrink the bitch. Crimp is fine for a little while then most likely cause problems.

Re: oxygen sensor mod

If you crimp it, it could still come loose and throw a code. You can connect the wires together nicely by splicing them together and taping it up smooth. Much experience with wires will help to make it work as good as soldering. BTW, I think the Bosch crimp off of the sensor they provide (little metal piece) sucks so I just cut that shit off and crimped it smoothly there, and insulated the connection (down at the sensor).
