some Qs on swaps

ok i'll probly be swapping an ls or b16 in my civic in a couple months, its my first swap. well i know most of what i need but here are some questions i couldnt find. 1.when you take the sohc out do you have to disconnect any lines for the AC? 2.whats the difference between cable and hydraulic tranny. do i want hydro since i have cable, and how hard is it to do that? and what durometer of bushings for my mounts do i want, hard med or soft? and if i wire vtec, is there any tuts on doing this?(im so confused with the engine wiring)

so i have an 89 STD civic so i think this is all i need, please add to the list if im forgeting things.....
engine, tranny, ecu, mpfi swap, axels,Si hubs and knuckles, and lower arm? (can i also use 93 integra hubs and knuckles?), shift linkage, mounts,AC bracket

thanks

No, since I assume youll be using your D series A/C compressor since u have the bracket listed below... Itll be a bitch to pull the engine with the lines there, but it can be done... Ive done it myself...

Hydro uses a hydraulic system, like your brake system, to activate the clutch... Honestly theres not too much of an advantage one way or the other, which is why most ppl just stay cable... The few advantages I can think of to do any hydro conversion are if the tranny u get is LSD, which there are cable trannies that are LSD, and it might be newer so less grinds in theory...

Medium, or street (if u go with HASport)... U dont want it too stiff or itll vibrate the piss out of the chasis, and too soft could cause wheel hop, broken axles, and/or other issues...

Yea theres plenty, but its not really that hard to wire VTEC... Only a few wires there... Its the other stuff thats a pain... But still not too hard... Off hand I dont know of any tuts, if I wasnt pressed for time Id look some up for u, but I gotta get ready for work...

Pretty sure u can use teg hubs and stuff... But youll need teg suspension, struts and possibly springs too... Dont forget timing belt, water pump, fluids, plugs, cap, rotor, ect, ect, ect... DO it right the first time or youll regret it later... Im sure im missing something but like I said, Im pressed for time... I hate work!

Re: some Qs on swaps

Since yours is a STD youll have to do a MPFI conversion on the wiring harness as well so be prepared for that. Unless your engine is coming with the engine harness youll need one from an SI or integra, for the resistor box etc..
