1997 Bonneville SE Problems, HELP!!

I have two lights that have came on inside the dash of my '97 Bonne. The "Check Engine" light has been on for quite a while, but my car seems to be running fine. One mechanic suggested that there might be a small "pin sized hole" in one of the hoses by the engine. Does this sound right? What else could cause this light to come on? It doesn't blink, it just stares at me while I drive Haha. Also, sometimes when I brake, a red brake light pops on and the dash will chime, but as soon as I release the brake, the light will disappear. This only happens sometimes. What do you think is causing this brake light to come on sometimes? Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a autozone by you they will scan it for free, you need to get it scanned. The CEL light could be anything and you might end up spending money on parts that arent broke.

Welcome to AF!!

As for the SES light you need to get it scanned and post the code so we can help you with the repair. As for the brake light coming on check the fluid in the master cylinder and make sure the level is full. If not refill and the light should go away. If it does not have it checked by a mechanic as you could end up losing your brakes at a critical time.
