Making exhaust louder...

Well, I got my Caprice back and it has new shocks, a new idler arm, new tie-rods, new ball joints, and new exhuast cat-back. I got a flowmaster "knock-off" muffler and it's pretty quite. It sounds good, and if I'm near a wall it's decently loud, but during normal driving, it's quieter than my old blown out exhuast. Is there anything easy I can do to make it louder? (note: I'd rather not hollow out my cat... we still have emissions here.)

Also, I should have the cosmetic damage from the accident fixed soon. I'm going to get some parts from the junkyard and get them painted for a great price ( I have a few connections ) I can also get them put on for free at the tech center (school). For the time being, I'm just going to drive it as is. I'll probably get some pics of the damage up tomorrow too.

Re: Making exhaust louder...

Cut off the tailpipe from the muffler and just put a tip facing down on the end.

Re: Making exhaust louder...

Would that cause a problem with CO if I idle for extended periods of time?

Run NASCAR-style dumps ahead of the rear wheels. That way you aren't exiting the exhaust under the car where it can present a health risk if the car sits and idles for extended periods.
