Unhappy automatic window malfunction

I have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan and all of a sudden the electric window on the driver's side won't come up more than an inch. It will go back down but not up. Any suggestions?

Re: automatic window malfunction

My 2000 also is starting to screw up on driver's side. Mostly when cold. Once or twice it has stopped moving and started buzzing behind the window control sw. assy on the door. I stopped the buzzing by moving the switch in the opposite direction of travel. I assume there is some kind of overload or relay type device behind the switches. Is there some way to lubricate the window channels? The drivers's window seems to move much slower than the passenger's side. Of course it has much more use than the passenger's.

Run the window down and try spraying the channels with a Silicone spray. You can get it at any auto parts store.

Why did you buy a $40K vehicle and not a $100 Factory Service Manual?

If you do need a new regulator/motor ther are some now on the web for around $85. Don't know of the quality though. I think that some places may be starting to rebuild these also?

Stevo2 Glad you didn't put the words quality and Chrystler Corp in the same sentence in your last post. Talk about antonyms. Chances are they'd be better off with the after market motor.

Re: automatic window malfunction

I bought an aftermarket regulator assembly and installed it on a 1996 with no problems. I think I paid $65 off of Ebay. It contained everything I needed, and installed reasonably easy. I believe it was going to be about $200 from the dealer....Glen

Re: automatic window malfunction

I've got a 01 Town & Country with a defective drivers window, can anyone describe how to take the door panel off? I've tried but didn't want to break anything... Thanks in advance
