93 Eagle talon problems!!! PLEASE HELP!!

hi, i have a huge problem with my 1993 EAGLE TALON TSI AWD, 2.0 L turbo. it has been sitting around for about 5 years, i recently recieved the car, got a transmission flush, motor oil flushed, and untill the past few weeks there have been some problems. when i drive it and even before i start it the dash board lights are going crazy like 2/3rds of them. and also when i switch gears and begin to accellerate there is no power but the engine is reving, then 3-5 seconds later it picks up. the car is a manual and it is wierd because when i release the clutch it gets very very little power (like 2 hp just to pull it) then the clutch is fully released then 3-5 seconds later comes the power. is it electrical? is it the turbo? what is it?!!!??!?! PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: 93 Eagle talon problems!!! PLEASE HELP!!

Oddly, my gsx has the same symptom sometime. Sometimes after shifting and accelerating it revs higher but doesn't go faster. For that problem maybe a boost leak? My guess would be check for boost leaks, it could even be a clutch problem, maybe even possible transmission problems. Sorry I can't be of much more help. As for your electrical problems...that is freakin wierd.

Sounds like your clutch is slipping to me.

Re: 93 Eagle talon problems!!! PLEASE HELP!!

If your battery was 100% dead after a week you have a short somewhere. If you have a multimeter you can easily narrow down the problem. Disconnect the negative side of the battery (with everything off, doors closed, and keys out of ignition) connect one connector to the negative battery terminal and the other to the negative cable. With everthing off you should not read more than .05volts (parasitic drain of efi cars) If you have more than .05v pull relays 1 by one until the voltage drops that will isolate the problem.
