More speed read

hey again I got a 1996 buick riv s/c I love it I just dont like how it only tops out at 110.....I dont like thinking I have good accleration that can prob get me to 140 but the stupid computer stops it at 110...any ideas I want more speed....is there a govener I could take off or something?

you probably only have to clip a wire, but I don't know whick one.

The "speed limiter" is programmed in your PCM. It can be eliminated if you have your PCM reflashed with a performance program. (Sorry, no wire to clip)

If you just want the speed limiter removed, PCMforless.com could do that for you. You would need to send your PCM to them along with a note with what you want to alter, and the can give a 1-day turnaround. Again, it will be hard to find anyone that has a program available for the 96 riv, due to the cost of dyno time and other cost to develop a performance program. There has to be a demand to make it worthwhile!
