2002 Grand Caravan Turn Signal/Hazzard Problem

Hello!

Seeking ideas - please!!!

2002 Dodge Grand Caravan...

When you use the blinker or hazzards, the instrument panel shuts down. Totally, shuts down. No lights, speedometer doesn't work, temp. guage doesn't work, fuel indicator doesn't work. NADA!

Also, neither the blinkers, nor hazzard lights work. Instrument panel functions again once blinkers/hazzards are off.

WEIRD! Any ideas?? PLEASE?!!! Inspection is approaching...UGH! Mom of 5 & MUST have my van working well!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like a bcm problem to me . You can either try going under the hood in the power dist center just above the batter and find the fuse IOD and pull it for 2 or 3 minutes and then reinsert , this will reset the bcm . If that doesn't work its time to go to the dealer and see if they can reflash the bcm . I suppose it could be a problem with the hazard switch itself but in my whole life i have never heard of one going bad.

Re: 2002 Grand Caravan Turn Signal/Hazzard Problem

Thanks! I will try that tomorrow morning and see what happens!

This morning when I first went out, everything was working NORMALLY. But, alas, this afternoon finds it all messed up again. Never a dull moment!

At least it will give me an opportunity to get my boys "under the hood" and start some of their car-care education....as limited as I can give them anyway.

Thanks again!
