Hello guys and gals, I have three questions
Firstly,My key was gettting stuck in the ignition for a while, but, then it stopped, and I know this is documented, what are the exact parts that need to be replaced to fix this problem? Second, The car should have a shift lock which makes it so you can't shift out of park without hitting the brake. However, mine is not functioning, the shifter will shift without the brake, because when i press the button on the shift knob, it disengages..what could be the problem? Finally, does anyone have a wiring diagram of the linkage between the shifter, trasmission, and steering column? I know thats a lot to ask but I appreciate the help -Chris oh hell, PS. If i remove the airbox, and just use a K&N cone filter, will that cause over-heating of the PCM as it is housed in the airbox? My mechanic stated that it's in there to cool the unit, However, I'd also like some input from the GP gods, hehe, thanks again!

Sounds like your first and second probelms are related. There is a high probablity it is the complete shifter assembly in the center console. Replace that and the key release will probably work OK too. Of course this is just an educated guess without troubleshooting the circuit.
What year and model GP do you have? I might have the wiring diagram of the BTSI system. On your final question I don't see any problem with the PCM overheating. A lot us of with DHP or Intense PCMs and CAI/FWI don't have the air box either.

It doesn't make any sense that the BTSI solenoid isn't available separately for the GT/GTP with the console shifter(you'll need an entire shifter assembly if the solenoid proves to be bad). There is a possibility that if you ever spilled a beverage in the center console, that it is mucked up with sticky residue, and some disassembly and cleaning could free it up.

Sorry, can't help with the BTSI wiring diagram. I only have 97 -99 GPs. GM in their infinite wisdom changed wiring color coding and even pin configurations on 2000 and up model years. However, the principles of operation are still the same.
