No airbag, no climate control, no power windows... PLEASE HELP!

Hi,

I have a 1994 Chrysler Vision (Concorde or Eagle Vision) in Europe.

Suddenly I had a wierd electrical failure. The airbag light went on, the climate control display went blank (no heat, no air con, no blower, no rear window defrost) and the power windows don't work.

The ABS light is also on but this has often happened before. I have had trouble for months with the Air Con (compressor never cycles but if jump-wired, all works fine). Also the two radiator fans run all the time irrespective of the temperature and even if the Air Con is off.

Chrysler can't find the fault. They tell me there are no blown fuses and that the body control unit appears to be OK.

Many thanks in advance if anyone can help. I'm stuck!

does your horn work? cruise control? There are a couple of things that could be wrong: broken clockspring (though from the information you describe doesn't seem to point to that) or a bad igntion switch, ironically is a common thing to go bad on 1st gen LH's.

Hi,

I'm sorry to be so long replying... have been waiting for the part. YES INDEED, it was a faulty ignition switch! Thank you very much for your help... I faxed your message to Chrysler here who already had the car. They changed the ignition switch (just the electrical part) and voila! They charged me 500 euros (about $600) -- five and a half hour's labor -- I reckon I could have done it myself in less than 2 hours. Never mind... no use crying over spilt milk: without your help the car would still be in their workshop!

The A/C still doesn't work. They say it is a sensor on the pipe that goes from the dryer to the compressor and they will have to change the pipe because the sensor is part of it (doesn't look like it to me). I'm not sure that they have really ckecked it either (they are evasive when I ask!). They seem keen to change it for another $600!

Any comments?

I have a similar problem, no power windows,heater, turn signals, and the air bag light is on. Wonder if my problem is also the ignition switch?.

Same thing happens on my car, I just wiggle the key and everything turns on willy nilly. Been doing this for about 2 years

funny, I just fixed this problem on my Concorde today.
And then just found this post while looking for this same problem with my AC.

I too jumper the relay and the compressor works.
I think I'll try jumpering the switch in the pipe.
