Koni Shocks (Rear) Install
My new shocks for my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire just arrived 2 days ago. Except; I’m having problems installing the rear shocks. Because they didn’t come with a perch (the thing that holds the springs from the shocks). So I was wondering if anyone new where I could buy some?
I have also found a Coilover Kit from Ground Control. But I hear that Coilovers give you a ruff ride if used for street use..? I don’t really know that much about suspension =\, so if any of you guys could direct me in the correct path that would be great. Any feedback would be appreciated, since I need to change the stock struts as soon as possible. They don’t work no more and my engine starts to loose power when I go over any bumps, small ditches, etc., which isn’t good. P.S any install recommendations are also welcomed. Thank you all, EC

no matter what you get, lower will be stiffer. UNLESS you do it the cheap way, then it's just dangerous. coilovers are a better option, due to the adjustability of them, and the control they give you at higher rates of speed. you can use springs and lowering shocks/struts, and it will work for all applicatons. The coilovers are more for the serious racing crowd in my opinion. I'll be using coilovers and HUGE brakes, once the car is built (just got the supercharger yesterday, YIPPIE!!!)

cool, thank you hotbug. You always help me out hehe. I'll get the coilovers =D since I want better handling at higher speeds. Glad you got your Supercharger. I won't be getting mines for a few more months.
alphalanos the shocks are for the right car. Except they just don't have perches. =\ I don't really know why, I found it weird myself. Thank you guys for the help, EC

You wont be getting one like mine anyway. I'm going BIG, m90 (twice the size of the m45), and possibly (it's up in the air but VERY likely to happen) the 2.6L stroker still. that puts me in the 400+FWHP range (closer to 500FWHP if the numbers are right).
Yeah, go with the coilovers, better to fit whatever situation you happen to be running in, lower for summer, and higher for winter, or custom for track layout and conditions.
