97-99 Conversion

Alright guys im wanting to do a 97-99 conversion.

my friend is selling his back bumper and side skirts for $100 u think i could get them cheeper somewhere else?

And about the front bumper would e-bay be my best bet or does someone else sell them.

And last but not least turbo spoiler. Anyone sell thase besides e-bay? And does any of them come with the rear light?

Also if anyone on here is selling them PLEASE let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 97-99 Conversion

the back bumpe and side skirts should fit pretty easily, but there is gonna be some custom work involved with the front bumper if im not mistaken because of the diffrent headlights. but to answer your question ebay would be a good place to get the front bumper. im not sure bout the spoiler tho.

There are a ton of threads about this, you should know better

But, you dont need to modify the bumper, you will need to get a set of 97-99 headlamp housings also. Thats a good deal on the rear bumper and side skirts. I would search ebay for used front bumpers and wings, people sell them quite often. I wouldn't buy a reproduction just because of the potential fitment issues. hope that helps.

Re: 97-99 Conversion

I know the headlights are diffrent. And yes i know some of this has been coverd but not my exact questions. I already have the 97-99 halo projecters and i know everything will bolt right up no problem, besides the headlight/reverse lights whitch i already have both.

Re: 97-99 Conversion

then what the heck is the question? whats cheap? do some research on sites and find the cheapest deal yourself lol. yea ebay will have stuff, but go to your local junk-yard, etc. many places have these, dont rely on ebay so much! although it is quite nice

Re: 97-99 Conversion

You will need to buy all new (or used) 97-99 foglights, which when I searched on ebay are shit expensive.

As for the $100 for skirts and back bumper-that is GREAT!

Th turbo spoiler is the absolute best..I loved it when I had it.

Re: 97-99 Conversion

Personally when I do this conversion, I am going to a local junkyard first. If I can't find a decent front bumper/headlights there I'll end up going to ebay. But, if I was you I would hit up a local junkyard first and look for the parts you need. It doesn't really matter the color anyway cause you will probably get it painted. The worst thing that could happen is you waste and hour of your life walking around a junkyard talking to a hairy hill billy missing some teeth named Bubba.

Re: 97-99 Conversion

the back bumper doesn't exactly match up, you have to move the brackets up or make shims. http://www.dsm.org/archives/t/2000/11/20001127.txt scroll down about 1/3 the way, it's post number 12.

there is no custom work involved at all if he's putting on both the 2gb bumper and 2gb lights.

oh shit yeah, my bad. i wasn't even thinking. in that case, everything will bolt up just fine.

i would say for sure go for the bumper/sideskirts. that's an awesome price.
e-bay bumpers are just fine, as long as you get a decent seller.
e-bay turbo spoilers are just fine, again, get a good seller though.
about the foglights...you might need to get the mounting brackets, but i'd check first. i'm not sure if they use the same brackets or not.
