I beat the system

At the college where I go to, we have curfews weekdays at 11 pm and weekends at 1 am, which is really stupid IMO. You have to swipe in when you enter the building after 11pm, and they do room checks. I figure if you're in college, you should know when you need to be back without someone telling you. Well, I decided to do something about.

They also allow us to submit electronic requests to go home for the weekend. I decided to submit one of these with these weekend's dates, except I changed the year on the end date to 2007. And guess what? It got approved. This means that I will not be flagged by the system for arriving late, and nobody will ever bother me about my curfew for the next year. It feels great.

Re: I beat the system

Yeah, I know. That's why I found a way out. I mean seriously, everyone is at least 18. Who cares what time you stay out until?

Bahahahaa.

*remembers being in a hall that had no lights out, no curfew, mixed floors (boys and girls)* Man, good times. Come and go whenever you please (although you did have to swipe in between 9pm and 7am just for security)

Re: I beat the system

My college was up in the mountains of West Virginia... they didn't give a shit. We had no "security" other than the guns and knives we had on us... I'm not even kidding.

That's a wierd university. pretty anal if u ask me. Buffalo just had swipes from 10pm to 8am for security, but curfew? wtf is that? we'd be out around the residence halls playing football at 3 in the morning

Re: I beat the system

Congrats on getting a way out. But seriously what the hell is up with your school? I have never heard of such a thing. The dorms here have a swipe thing (I dont live in the dorms but mine still opens the door anyway ) but you dont get in trouble for going there late, thats just plain silly.

Re: I beat the system

I went to a Public University and lived in the dorms for 2 years. The first year, you only had to swipe your card to get in after 10pm... but it wasn't like that was your curfew or anything... it was just a security measure. Anyone who wasn't from the dorm was supposed to sign-in, but a lot of people just pretended they lived there. The second year some dumb ass came in and drew a gun on the Dorm Asst. so after that we had to swipe at all times of the day AND we had to carry these retarded color-coordinated card holders, so if your card holder didn't match the color for that dorm you had to sign-in like everyone else.

Re: I beat the system

Did you beat the system, or did you just make them aware of the flaw in the system?
