Opinion on 97 golf

Umm yea theres a 97 golf for sale $1500, umm but it has 200,000 miles on it...
I was wondering if it was still worth to buy, it has a clean body, really nice overall.l Or i would like to know up to how many miles can this type of car go on for, is this a good deal or can i find something better for a price like that and with less miles...
