won't start

I have installed a new battery, new starter, and a new alternator, and still when I turn the ign. nothing happens. No click, no nothing. But as soon as I boost it with cables to any running vehicle, the car will start and run. I ran it it for 30 miles. Yet when I turn it off, it will not start again. Not even will the solonoid to the starter will click. Any suggestions.

Re: won't start

1st suspect I would go for is that "new" alternator. I put one on one time.....and it was bad from the start. Any lights on before this happened? Bet that little yellow light was on huh?

What I would do is get the new Alt checked......the battery would have ran the vehicle for a while....but after that....would be dead as a door nail.

By the way...IF the alt is bad.....take the batt back too.....you run a batt down that low and it will never....ever be the same.

Good luck

Re: won't start

Did you hook directly to the battery on the grand prix or the post above the fuse box?

Re: won't start

You need to check the voltage now....since it wont start at this point. I need to know if the battery has voltage. Do the lights come on? Try the headlights....and then test the voltage while they are on.....this will help diagnose the problem
