Question I really need help now.

ok i got me a peppy little 85 rex. but things didnt go so smooth. 1. needed a new carb, was only told that he had a friend that adjusted some screws and it needs to be readjusted. I said no problem. 2. no muffler. ez fix...

well about 500 later i have a new carb timing and muffler on this now drives like a sports car rex, things are going great then one day we stop at an intersection, DEAD REX! i can smell the fuel, and its turning, but nothing.

so i push for about an mile and im home. No spark! i have tested everything there was to test thanks to my 1gen manual. coil is good. even tested the coil with one from an old 280zx. replaced the ignitor, nothing different then before. dash lights up but im not getting spark at all.

what are we missing. and has anyone had this problem. i dont want to let my baby die. she was cheap and i love her.

Anthony

Re: I really need help now.

I had something similiar happen to a totally different car after I rebuilt the head gasket. I went through all the same stuff you describe, it ended up being that the coil wasn't tight I guess I touched it somehow putting the manifolds over the head, it sounds stupid but check it sometimes too it will read a test voltage through a spark wire but its still loose and the power is not enough to make a spark but enough to fool the tester (depending on its quality) good luck
