99 grand am problems??
Hi All,
I am considering buying a 1999 Grand Am GT with 47K miles. It has the 3.4L V6 and automatic transmission. It has all the bells and whistles. Does anyone know of cronic problems with this year and model Pontiac. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: 99 grand am problems??
their are things... that is low mileage for a 99' though
like the intake gaskets leaking, on th eV6, and maybe the wheel hub/bearings, depending on if you driv it like a racecar Some people hav other things, these are the two I see the most.

Leaking lower intake manifold gaskets. Don't be surprised if you find yourself replacing the alternator and water pump within 80k miles, also.

Thanks for the feedback. I know the alternator and power steering hose have already been replaced.

Re: 99 grand am problems??
those power steering hoses are a B****! Not alot of room to work on things. Not as bad as some other Pontiacs but none the less its tight under the hood.
But if you driv the car normal, and keep up on the maintenance a Grand Am will last for years. If you havnt knoticed their are a lot of 95s+ still on the road today, that has to mean something about them.
