Yay new car

Just a commuter for now, may stay that way. Still undecided.

'91 Jetta, German build (thank God), 1.8, 5-speed, 250,000kms but meticulous maintainance and outstanding condition.

Ignore the winter 13"s on it right now, they are nasty and will be gone as soon as the snow is. In fact, I think I'll take the centre caps off so that I don't have that nasty two-tone thing happening. The summer tires are on the factory 12-round-hole 14" wheels, freshly painted. However, I think I may save those (on their last legs) for auto-x and get some 15" steelies with MK4 Jetta hubcaps for the summer tires

Not sure yet, but I did 225kms (140 miles) today after a fill-up and the needle still hasn't moved from above the full mark...

Sounds awesome if the needle moves consistantly.

Mine stays above half tank for a long time, but past half tank it drops to empty so fast that I think I can see it move within a couple of miles .

Re: Yay new car

Do you know how proud you've just made me?

Man I miss my Mk 2 I had 250,000 k's as well on my German built Jetta and it ran better than my Hondas do at 125,000.

On closer inspection that's prolly damn near identical to mine, is it carbed or injected?
