Better car to buy sl vr4
Here's my problem i am a spoiled 16 kid looking for a car. i can get a vr4 or a sl for the same price. i do race ovels and roadcoarses with many wins so i can drive but i heard that the twin turbo system has had problems and i don't want to have to figure out the electronic crap. I don't know much about it because i was origonaly a all american car guy. the only import i like is the 3000gt so some one "help me out because it really is a tough decission"

Re: Better car to buy sl vr4
You'd figure that being spoiled would come with a better education in the understanding of the english language
That aside, you should still go with an SL or base. Check the sticky on this topic.

Re: Better car to buy sl vr4
You're spoiled huh??? So you don't really even know the value of a dollar I take it... get a job and than see what you can afford, it's a whole different world... however, if you do get whatever you want, than why do you care about maintenance problems.... this is my suggestion for you, since you're 16 start out with an SL and do basic performance upgrades (Intake, headers, exhaust, downpipe, high flow cats, etc...). Than in another 2 years, if you still want a VR4, go and get one...
If you get one now, you might end up regretting it when you wrap it around a tree. Now I'm generalizing, but I've heard enough about a 16 with a VR4 or a TTz or a TT MKIV supra for a first car to say that steering 16 year olds away from those types of cars is a good thing. Welcome to the forums though.

Re: Better car to buy sl vr4
I am sorry that the spolied commet came out wrong but i said im spoiled because of the choise that i have to make. i did work for my money and know i just have a decision that a spoiled might have to make. I know all about the dangers of street racing because my dad was one and he has showed me pictures of people that raced him that were wraped around trees. so i would not race it outside of a track and i never could spell

Re: Better car to buy sl vr4
^I say get the SL with 40K miles... IDK what kind of power you want, but I think the SL has plenty of power, and you can always upgrade if you want more... now you say that you'll only race at the track, but it gets extremely tempting when that nice new ferrari pulls up next to you and revs, or when that integra blows past you doing 130 on the highway (rite young

Re: Better car to buy sl vr4
If your an experienced driver and are "spoiled" then get a VR4 for the track (if that is in fact the case). I dont know how old you have to be to drive on a track but I would think you would have to have a valid drivers license, so I dont know if you really are all that experienced with less than a year under your belt (once agian if thats the case). I'd say SL or base if your recently started otherwise the TT would be nice.

Re: Better car to buy sl vr4
You're 16, I don't care how experienced you consider yourself. Get the SL.
