another TURBO Question?
What should i do to my internals of my JDM D15B before i install a turbo assembly, so it can withstand as much power enhancement from the turbo?
Let me know what i need and thanx. |

Re: another TURBO Question?
Rebuilt is good, but what do i need for my internals. Like pistons, rods, camshaft, valves, etc. and what size or from what D-series engine to get them from.

Re: another TURBO Question?
this is form my notes...so its kinda out of order and prob. things on there more than 1 time...im just too lazy to retype it all...good luck
The timing belt is 104 teeth, not the same as Z6. it is the D15Z1 timing belt. head casting is the same as D16 SOHC VTEC engine water pump is D15Z1 also D15Z1 Honda Civic VX 1992-1995 D15B ... Displacement (cc): 1493 Power (bhp@rpm): 130@6800 Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 14.1kg/m@5200 Compression Ratio: 9.6:1 Bore (mm): 75 Stroke (mm): 84.5 Cam Design: sohc VTEC?: yes OBD:1 Year(s) Produced: 1991-1999 In the following car(s): Honda Civic VTi (EG4) the timing belt is same as vx, 14400 p08 from honda. water pump: kehin - 19200-P08-003 yamada - 19200-P08-004 oil pump: 15100-P01-003 timing belt: 06141-P08-305 (but i bet the VX belt works fine if it has the same # of teeth 14400-p08-004) d15b crank uses d16 rod journals but d15 main (block) journals. Apparently d15bs use z6 rods, so any aftermarket rods for a z6 should work. D15B VTEC should have a 27.7 compression height. We'll know as soon as Marcus @ HeelToe gets his order in and measures. The only USDM replacement piston is the 01-05 GX piston. It has a 27.0 compression height with a small dome. Bumps the compression about .7 ............ same rods as the z6 3. any cam will fit... not sure if you have to have to change the timing with an adj. cam gear though 4. aftermarket intake manifolds will fit just fine! the lacking bolt hole is for the purge solenoid valve that goes to the charcoal canister. You only need this is you're running a p28 ecu (you can ziptie it to the firewall easily though)... the p08 doesn't require this 5. any TB will work... even b-series. BLOCK SECTION Block:11000-P07-800 <--- slightly different than VX Piston set: 13010-P08-010 <--- unique to d15b vtec oversize 0.25: 13020-P08-010 oversize 0.50: 13030-P08-010 Ring set : 13011-P08-004 Connecting rod set: 13210-PM6-000 Crankshaft:13310-P08-000 <--- completely unique Connecting rod bearing A: 13211-PE0-003 HEAD SECTION head assembly: 12100-P08-010 <---almost same as z6 camshaft: 14110-P08-000 <---unique! big surprise cam pulley:14210-PM3-000 <--- same as VX rember only my slopy notes...lol
