Re: Intercooler without Turbo?

why? it wont do anything without turbo.. turbo needs it because of the heat it produces. a cold air intake would work fine, but it wont really help your hp.

Re: Intercooler without Turbo?

I've probably seen 100 cars with intercoolers and no turbo's. Most use it for looks but no real advantage. same principle as the intake that goes into your fender.

Re: Intercooler without Turbo?

It would do more harm than good. Your car is naturally aspirated and dosn't have a turbo forcing air though the intercooler. So the engine has to work harder to suck the air through it causing it to run hotter. Just stick with a CAI, thats all you need.

Re: Intercooler without Turbo?

intercoolers only work because the turbo heats the air up and the IC cools it back down to near ambient air temp....w/ a short ram, you're already pulling air at ambient air temp....

Re: Intercooler without Turbo?

no intercoolers work because the turbo forces air in them. but are also right

Re: Intercooler without Turbo?

hmm.. cold air is more dense.. so in theory, you would be getting more air into your intake

in theroy but rather than it being easy to draw the has to draw though the intercooler. and with nothing pushing. figure it as your stock it a coffey stirrer, adn a cai is a straw. the the intercoolr w/o a turbo would be a long ass straw with a cigartee in it but it would be a cold cig
