ABS, Trac Off, Service lights

I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire. These three lights used to come on only when it would rain, which was very infrequent. Then they started coming on quite often so I took it in to someone who told me it was a wheel speed sensor that was erratic and needed replaced. Well two appointments later (they replaced the wrong one the first time) it stopped until recently. They have started coming on again. When I back up it's all fine, then I put the car in drive and the lights come on. Occasionally there is a rubbing type vibration feel but it only last a little bit when I step on the brake. It, once in a great while, does this little dip feeling in the back end of the car when I come to a stop. Any idea what might be going on or what I should have looked at? Thanks for all advice.

that dip is the shock compressing when u hit the brakes. i have the same proble on my car too. i think u have to replace the shock.

Re: ABS, Trac Off, Service lights

I have to same problem with my 2001 Sunfire. It started when I put on my snow tires on, ran all seasons last year and this did NOT happen. This does not happen on rain soaked, dry or snowy roads. It happens on slusshy roads or when I go from dry to wet roads. I did not have the code read yet as it goes away when I restart the car. Got me stumped. I got it undercoated the same time as I put my winters on. So when this started happening, I had the guy check the connectors and all are tight.

Re: ABS, Trac Off, Service lights

I had this problem with both my sunfires. it turned out that the wires connected to the front wheel hubs had become bare. this is because they are constantly moving with the wheels and vibration. on one i was able to patch and shrink wrap it. the other eventually broke off right at the plug. I went to my local wrecker and cut one out of a wreck. if you are having trouble locating a decent one, the horn plug on the sunfire cavaliers will fit the hub. simply cut the horn harness out of a wreck and patch it in. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I will check this when the weather gets above 15C in June. I am also curious about what happens when I put my all seasons back on. I can go days without them coming on or minutes when the roads are in a certain condition.
