This is meant for Luke especially. I was wondering how much would it actually take to buy the engine and install it. Say I buy it from you- does it come with all the wiring, spark plugs, headers, etc. Or is it just the block with the turbo. What is the lowest price I can get for a 99' SR20DE (30,000miles, serviced, never raced-out, hardly taken above 3500rpms as a daily driver). What kind of power can I get at the wheels. Is stick required or optional. You know just a thought to consider.

first of all....i'll let you know that i dont give the LOWEST prices on the DET engines. I can actually referr you to a cheap place (since you are in SoCal) to get everything done for dirt cheap....but please remember, what you get is what you pay.
the engine from me, is $1500 plus shipping (you can come pick up as well). These engines will be fully inspected, leaked down, compression tested as well as visual inspections by me or peopel from me shop. all the engine will be very clean as well cuz we clean them, espeically the turbo to get all the gunk out if there's any. $1500 does not include ecu, harness but you can use your factory ones. As for a DE motor...i'll be selling my soon after my installation of the turbo...yes, i do race my car on the tracks, but it is tuned very nicely (mainly stock..only a JWT intake, however, i use all the expensive goodies for the engine hehe). I have 50k miles on it and it's a 99.

Thanks a lot for the help LUKE. But I've been thinking and a whole new engine with a turbo will have to be some time in the future say when I put another 30k miles. This forum just gets me worked up sometimes. Meanwhile I'll just stick with looks and save more money. If your still around then I'll most likely purchase it from you considering that you said everybody elses motors are dirty. J/k Lates.

Hmmmm want 2 get a DET into my car but wont it void my 7 year warrintie. Also live in Cali and im sure that baby wont pass smog. Also have a 2002 if that causes any probs... What should I do???

it wont pass smog for sure and definitly ruins your warranty...it's an upgrade for serious performance folks i guess.

Correction, it won't pass the visual inspection in The People's Republic of California.

It will however pass the sniffer test. I totally expect mine to pass the smog test here (sniffer).

yeh..wont pass visual for sure...some stupid people here in CA, right when they see an air filter, they call it a pollution hog and not pass you.

because i actually buy them to but i told my dealer about getting turbo and aftermaket stuff so i got refuned but not full!!!

Yep!

Look for a SR20DET installation kit for the P10 from Hotshot. I talked with John Spangler (owner of Hotshot) and he's going to send me some mandrel bends so I can make another set of pipes (I can do a little better job next time) to use to make a kit.

He's not sure about the demand. I'll let y'all know when he has the pipes. You can then show your demand. Please don't bug him just yet though. He doesn't even have the pipes.

The kit will include a HKS front mount intercooler, IC pipes, intake pipe, and he will probably supply a JWT ECU if you don't have one so you can do one stop shopping. John's a great guy and owns a 200SX SE-R. He's friends with much of the SoCal SR20 community.
