An independant Air Filter Study. Must Read

I haven't had time to read it all yet, but I just got an independant report on air filters.

http://home.usadatanet.net/~jbplock/ISO5011/SPICER.htm

It's a must read before you buy your next air filter, especially for thse of us that drive in dusty conditions

For efficiency, other than the K&N and Uni, it doesn't look like there is much difference between the various filters.

efficiency isn't really the issue if you live in a high dust location. Ability to remove the dust from the air is the issue then, and K&N just doesn't appear to cut ti.

Re: An independant Air Filter Study. Must Read

I wonder if all AC Delco filters use the same basic design and media, or is there a problem extrapolating these results to filters other than the exact model tested.

For my needs, I think one of the best indicators of performance is "Accumlative Gain" - the total amount of dirt passed through the filter during the test. The less the better. "Initial Restriction" is also a very important variable. Again, the less the better.

(I am currently running an AFE reusable in my truck - I don't live in a dusty area)
