Id like to see them take the Jeep badge off of it and put a Ram on it like it should have. It would seem the smart thing to do is to maintain Jeep as a nitch market and mass market the Chrysler/Dodge lines. But, what do I know, thats why somebody gets payed alot more than I do to make those decisions..

Re: Lets get started.

It kinda reminds me of the 'ol Wagoneer. I loved that old truck and this one doesn't seem to be too bad, though it's a mistake to put the 3.7 in there, no power at all.

Re: Lets get started.

"Cherokee on steroids". Plenty of room, I love it.

They couldn't badge it as a Dodge, since it would be head to head vs the Durango. I talked to a Jeep marketing guy, and he said they've been waiting almost 7 years for a Jeep with 3 rows of seating.

Re: Lets get started.

I dont know about anyone else here, but I own the new Grand Cherokee, and since the Commander is the same thing underneath, I have mixed feelings about it. I like it cuz it's a Jeep, but I dont like it cuz it's just so bulky. But I'd still take it over an LR3/H2 anyday.

Good idea, bad package. It could've been so much better. Like an American Range Rover for $40K.

Re: Lets get started.

Whats up everyone. I work at a dealership and we sell Jeep and Chrysler. My demo car is a 2006 Jeep Commander Limited with the 5.7L Hemi V8 w/ MDS. It hauls major butt. The 4.7L V8 is pretty quick too. I personally like it better than a Grand Cherokee because it looks more rugged than the Grand Cherokee. It's an amazing car.

Anyone living in the Washington DC area and interested in test driving one, please email me and we can set up appointment foryou todrive one and maybe buy one.

Re: Lets get started.

I am probably going to get one in the coming weeks as soon as I fix my 96 JGC. With all of the incentives going on, not too hard to get what you want in the 25K range....

This should be in the Car Audio forum.

Re: Lets get started.

I love my new Jeep Commander. Whoever said it looks like a range rover is totally wrong. I work at a Land Rover dealership here in Wisconsin, and in no way do they look the same. As opposed to an LR3, I like how the LR3 drives and the features you can get it with, but I would rather keep the commander. The LR3 was a great car when it came out but there have been many problems as I have seen from being a service advisor. I didn't get the HEMI unfortuntely, but I still love it nonetheless.

Re: Lets get started.

I traded in my Nissan Armada that would get stuck in anything for a Hemi powered Unlimited for towing the Jeep and quads. I love it, it takes the trailer in places the Armada go stuck and it is a great driver, i also never have to worry about road conditions or lack of roads and if I get a stupid streak and want to go north and see snow, I know I have the traction.

Awesome vehicle

And for later, Rock Krawler makes a 3.5" lift for it to run better tires and have a little more than the measley 7.5 inches of clearance
