96 CV Temperature Gauge

My temp gauge is not working. Can someone outline a trouble shooting procedure to determine the cause? I did notice that there seems to be two sending units, which one goes to the gauge? Can I find the problem with a simple multimeter?
Thanks BB

No takers?

Surely someone has had some experience with this??? What I'm looking for is a resistance value for the sending unit and a voltage I can apply to the gauge to see it they are functional. Also, could this be some kind of a computer problem?

Re: 96 CV Temperature Gauge

The sender with a single wire is for the gauge, the two-wire one is for the PCM.

Ground the single wire, the gauge should go to full hot. Remove it from ground and the gauge should go to full cold. If not, there is a wiring or actual gauge problem.
