plastic burning smell

I have a 99 p71 and lately when I get out of the car I can smell a faint when you put plastic over a flame smell. Anybody have any ideas? I smell but I cant sniff where the main source is coming from.

You may have run over something like a plastic bag that came in contact with the exhaust?

Exclamation Re: plastic burning smell

..i had the same odor in my 98 CVPI ..it turned out to be the BOO (brake on/off SWITCH) located on the brake pedal upper arm. next time ya smell it, take a peek and see if your BOO switch is glowing..ive since replaced it and had no more burning plastic smell.

Re: plastic burning smell - ACT NOW!

The car could catch fire, even when it is parked with the ignition switch off. Until you locate and fix the source of the problem, do not park it in a garage attached to or near your home.

For help, look at flamingfords.info.
