Idle Problems

When i crank my car up it will idle at about 2000Rpms then after about 10 minutes it will start to jump from 2000 to 1000 then back and forth and it wont never stop. Then as i shift gears when i push the clutch in it will idle high like 3000rpms and then drop down when i let the clutch back out. Any help would be appriciated.

Re: Idle Problems

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. The problem with mine was that I didn't tighten my intake down correctly. I tighten it up and it stopped. That's what I suggest doing.

Your talking about the intake manifold or air intake.

Re: Idle Problems

It could be a vaccum leak. Spray the IM hoses with water and see what you find.

Re: Idle Problems

he is saying the intake manifold(im) vacume lines.
get a spray bottel and spray the lines, they are the small(really skinny) rubber lines...

Re: Idle Problems

with the car runing, if there is a leak your idle will go down for a sec when you spray water on the line
