~5k for a first car?

Im looking to get my first car, and i dont want to spend more than 5k. Ive been driving for almost 2 years (had my license 15 months, plus 7-8 months on my permit). I have a job (7 bucks a hour, ~20 hours a week) i make about 500 a month after taxes. Im looking for something fun, small, cheap, and it must be a stick.

ive come up with a few cars already:
ef crx or squareback
eg/ek civic coupe or hatch
NA miata
sw20 mr2 (non-turbo)
92-96 prelude vtec

what else would you guys suggest? I need something that wont kill me in insurance too. (sw20 is about 800/6 months, thats about my limit).

Thanks a lot!

Re: ~5k for a first car?

I'd recommend a Miata, since they're initially cheap and lots of fun, but parts'll be cheaper and more common for an EF/EG CRX or Civic, so I'd go with one of those.

Re: ~5k for a first car?

500 a month.. I would stick with what you are driving now. This post has been done and redone. The same people give the same answers again and again.

Re: ~5k for a first car?

you can easily get a swapped crx that is under $5k and can run 13's.
