Rebuilt engine shuts off after running 2 minutes

This is a long story but I'll try to make it short. I have a 98 Accord 3.0 V6 with 198k miles. Recently I spun a bearing. So I have had my mechanic rebuild alot of the engine. New crankshaft, bearings, oil pump, water pump, timing belt etc. 2 months later !!! He finally has it running again but now after he start the engine he says " the computer shuts the engine off after 2 minutes". And he does not know why. He told me the computer is not sending any codes out. He spoke to a mechanic at the local Honda dealership who said the VTEC engines have an oiling problem, but he would not expand on what it is. Is that even related to my problem???
I really want my car back can someone help me out here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John

If there is a "problem"...wouldnt a recall be in order?
