1994 Nissan Pathfinder Factory Alarm/Entry
I recently had several problems which entailed a new, used engine. Because nothing goes as planned my car sat for 3 months w/out engine. Engine was finally replaced. Now I am noticing:
My keyless entry does not work AND the light on the switch in center console blinks about 3 times every 2 seconds. It does not make a difference if I switch it to "off/on/impact on." -Is it possible the mech just got a wire crossed or possibly grounded one out? My car used to start after about 2 seconds, every time, BAM. Now it turns over, wanh, wanh, wanh, wanh, wanh, wanh, wanh, wanh. -Is it possible my battery just got weak from sitting? I am in S. Louisiana and it does not get that cold here. My brakes feel spongy. Could this be because the car sat up for so long? -Should I just bleed them? I have had the ABS light on for 4 years. I heard I should replace ALL the brake fluid with FORD DOT 3 and the light may go off. My radio loses its memory after about 8 hours, maybe the in dash clock too, did not notice though. -Possibly a bad RE-connection? Or is it possible the starting prob has something in common with it. I had the work done so I could sell the car. It is worth far less with these problems and I think I would have junked it if they do not get resolved. I paid 800 for the engine w/45k on it and 1600 for install. I was hoping to get 3500 for auto. The car is in GOOD condition, but body/elec have 216k on them. Thanks for reading, it was a bit longer than I anticipated. ANY HELP would be GREATLY appreciated. Patrick |

You can try reprogramming the remote since everything was probably disconnected and erased.
Under the drivers seat and carpet is a button, put the key in the ignition and turn it to on then pull the key back out, then you'll hear beeps push the lock button on the remote and you're done
