finally picked up my vr4 today!!

Finally picked up my 93- vr4 today. it has been sitting in his garage for 4 months. fired it up went and filled it up. and then let it idle for 30 min. because he said on a full tank it would run fine, then alittle later it would die about every 20 min. I thought it was a fuel pump. but coulda been a bad battery his was shot. put new one in today. anyway runs fine, but did smoke most of the time when idling. I thought it was rings..
on way home smoked heavy at first, but cleared up about 3 miles down road. now no smoke only if I let it idle for a few minutes, but after a couple of revs no smoke and going down road and punch it no smoke..so must just been valve guide seals. anyway it runs very strong, will give my LT1 trans am a run for the money. just one question, when I give it gas and let off going down road the shifter will move about 1/4-1/2 " like a tranny mount might be bad or loose. it will move forward when I hit it. is that normal or could it be a mount..anyway runs very good for the 1100.00 that I got for it..and looks pretty sharp also...
