1992 buick lesabre limited
Hi everyone i was just wondering if anyone knows how i can check if my camshaft sensor is shot. The deal is the car runs good cold, once it warms up, and is driven for awhile it misses and stalls, then it will not start again until it is cold. If it starts up soon after it dies it doesnt go far and then dies again. Sometimes I even smell a little gas outside of the car. I just replaced the fuel filter, so thats not the problem, if anyone knows anything about this please give me any info you can, thanks alot, jermey.

Re: 1992 buick lesabre limited
If your cam sensor is shot, you should get a trouble code. Even if you don't have one showing up, I would still either have the car scanned to see if anything comes up.
A gas smell could be a bad 02 sensor (which doesn't cause stalling like you mentioned) a leak at the fuel rail/ injectors or possibly a clogged fuel vapor canister

Re: 1992 buick lesabre limited
The symptoms you mentioned tend to lead in the direction of the "crank sensor", not the cam sensor. The car will still run with a bad cam sensor, the injector firing will just be out of time. Check the codes and post back.
