I'm finished w/ pastels, Thinking of new media now

Wut up everyone.

Well sometimes you have to know when to fold them, when to walk away.
I have just finish messing up my last pastel work.

Freekin applying pastel is getting me everytime. I have tried powder, no powder, finger, no finger. Webril pads and no webril pads. I am just giving up on that rendering style.

So with that. I am considering color pencils. I am going back to my first luv of graphite drawings. I will keep on w/ the digital coloring. I am having way better progress w/ that right now.

I was thinking of trying water color but I can't dedicate enough hour blocks to make good use of that medium. You can't just let a water color painting sit on the drawing board.

I might try pen/ink w/ water color washes perhaps.

Anyway just a weee bit frustrated.

Just wanted to let you all know if you are not getting the progress you need it is ok to call it quits and try/refocus on something else.

I wish I could go see how a hot wheels designer or any other car designer applies pastel.
But I guess since the popularity of coloring programs they probably do most of their work w/ computers

See I need a medium that doesn't require lots of time at one time, if that makes sense.
I like graphite because you can leave the work for weeks and come back to it. I like digital for the same reasons.

Ooh, ooh, get prismacolors!

Seriously, I think-... I know you'll be great with them. Once you get used blending and layering them, they'll give great results.

If you have extra money to throw around, maybe an airbrush would be a good idea. You can leave airbrush work for a long time and then come back to it... just don't leave frisket on your paper for a long period of time... trust me, I learned the hard way
