99 Century windshield wiper problem

I think I did something dumb. I was trying to flip some snow off the windshield wipers while I was driving so I did something i've done a thousand times before but it didn't work this time. WHile the wipers were working I stuck my hand out the window and grabbed it and lifted it off quickly while it was moving at the edge of the drivers side windshiled. But I must have held onto it a little too long and now the wiper hardly works at all and goes in crazy directions even right off the windshield. It goofed up the other wiper too because they started banging into each other and now the other wiper doesn't go all the way over either. Is this going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix and what does it need? The motor seems to be working fine and the blades are ok. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I doubt you did any major damage. Check to see if the arm is tight. You may have only moved it off the splines that hold it in place. Simply put it back into the proper position and tighten the nut that holds the arm in position. It should work normally. Only if the splines on the inside of the arm or the splines on the motor shaft are damaged will it cost something to fix.
