Caprice Value

How much do you think my caprice would be worth if everything was in good mechanical condition and the car passed state inspection, but needed body work? How much if it ran but needed about $500 of mechanical work (yes, it still drives)? And finally, how much if it was in good shape all the way around minus the vinyl top that doesn't look too bad?

Here's what the car has:
-Brougham package
-NEW cat-back exhaust with flowmaster knock-off (post accident)
-great motor; TBI 305
-transmission works fine
-maintenance records
-GREAT interior
-power seats/windows/steering/brakes
-cruise control/tilt wheel
-134000 miles
-A/C new as of 2003 and about 5000 miles
-Alternator new as of 2005 and 1500 miles
-Radiator new same time as A/C
-Same with brakes (pads & rotors on front; pads on rear), rotor cap, wires, and plugs.
-runs GREAT
-oh, I have brand new tires mounted on the brougham rims as well.

what it needs:
-possibly a stereo... there's pioneer cd player installed right now, but I may take it with me
- (mechanical stuff) tie rods, idler arm, shocks, control arm, and ball joints. I was quoted $550 for all of these repairs including parts and labor, though this is a VERY good rate.
- (body work) rear bumper, tailights, passenger fender, possibly a hood, minor trunk work, both rear quarters have some extremely minor dings (small enough not to show up in pictures of the car at all)
-vinyl top either replaced or removed. It has some small splits in it.

This is all just for evidence... I'm currently involved in an argument with my parents over the value of the car. They think it's worthless.

Much thanks!

Re: Caprice Value

By any chance, does it have opera lights?

Re: Caprice Value

I don't believe so. Opera lights go on the post between the front and rear doors right?
