90' Mark VII Cruise Control Quit Working

To start I was in Vegas this summer and noticed neddles on the dash (speed and tach) moving and odometer clicking away while parked. Shortly after I checked the battery and topped it off as it was quite low due to the extreme heat (105-120+). After as I drove down the freeway I touched the brake to cancel the cruise as usual to exit the freeway. There after it stopped working. Within a few days I took a 700 mile trip north and the alternator failed at around 500 miles. I then replaced the alternator and battery for security.

I have checked all fuses, did a troubleshoot as suggested in the owners manual, cleaned the contacts on the steering wheel with electrical contact cleaner, and now I am
slamming my head against the wall.

I have concluded that the cruise control unit is packed in the drivers fender, but I have no idea where the relays, solenoid, or in inline fuses are located. My repair manuals have no sections referring to this issue.

I thank you for your input. Enjoy the Day!!!

P.S. Scematics will also be helpful if available.

Problem is mostly likely a dirty relay mounted on the outside firewall driver side it is mounted under a small black plastic cover near MAP sensor. One relay is for ABS the other for cruise & horn. good luck
