trans cooler line leaking

i have a 96 taurus with an ax4s tranny the trans cooler line that goes into the bottom of the radiator(part#f6dz7a630fa)when i went to the local dealer to order it they told me it was no longer available even though the one going in the top is but it wont work i checked the junkyards and there arent any there either.help please thanks

If the metal part is leaking, cut out the split portion with a tube cutter then use a piece of hose and hose clamps to bridge the gap. If you want to, put 2 clamps on each end for security. If its is a hose connection or a hose, cut the crimp connector off with a hacksaw, sawing diagonally on the connector. Don't saw into the metal pipe. Then use a piece of hose again and hose clamps as above. Hose should fit snugly over pipe and ONLY use hose for Power steering or transmission, no fuel hose or vacuum hose. Parts people should know what to sell you. Tighten every thing down, run the engine and check for leaks, top up tranny fluid and take your best girl to town. HTH Alex
